Corporate Nonsense : Twitch Updates for Streamers
Corporate Nonsense you Say? Have you seen the current emails that we’re all getting from twitch? Are they planning on doing more than this, I mean if so that’s great but this is just performative support if not vague virtue signals. Let’s take a look at what these actually boil down to in each image.
This set of images basically says “We heard you but we’re ignoring you”. Creator Camp basically is not much more than what’s already in your dashboard. If that’s not true, then most of what these two images say is in your dashboard. Your safety center, already has that information in it for the last four years – but recently just pulled into one “EASIER TO FIND” section. Twitch must think we have no intelligence. Twitch also forgets that business hours in the USA cuts out how many more of us? That’s 5 am New Zealand time on Sept 16th, how are people in Japan willing to watch that? How are we going to attend something that we’re basically being patronized and told we’re “looked after” when we’re not.
Corporate Nonsense : Why are we even here?
Let’s be real about this – there’s a large issue at hand here. They wrote these, planned these long before we took our day off. They don’t care if we leave the platform. Frankly, I don’t think small creators should. If we’re lucky the large top tier will give up and make a huge knock on twitch, and leave room for all of us to take over and create our own empire. Frankly, we’re probably the backbone of the platform even though the large tier users give more ad revenue than anything else. Think about the small time communities that have hype trains every freaking time they stream – because they WANT to support people they’re hanging out with. Twitch makes more revenue off that then pissing on their advertisers with people that don’t have hype or other stuff- and just manage to have ‘long hours’.
Twitch isn’t a platform for content creation in my opinion. So this corporate nonsense is becoming an absolute nightmare in how it’s just rotating around the same thing every few days, weeks whatever. I’m not the be all and end all to twitch, i’m an extremely small creator who just recently changed their username to better suit some personal branding on things that weren’t my design work. [ I’ll make note of the changes without going into personal details, as my blog is not for that, I have discord and tumblr for that LOL]
Let’s be real.

So basically it LITERALLY just links to the help center, and does nothing. They’re expecting us to honestly do everything ourselves, so I’m not sure how this is going to pan out.
